Fairuz was born in Sandakan, Sabah, but grew up in Kimanis Papar, Sabah before settling in the Federal Territory of Labuan. Many people call Fairuz Misran “a clone of the late P. Ramlee” due to their similar voices and physical appearances. He has many hits, with one of his biggest successes being his songs in collaboration with Baby Shima: Ikatan Asmara and Bak Zaman.
